Hello there,

I just received and installed my SkyX Pro Edition. I was expecting to see a big improvement over Sky 6 and I'm just starting to dig into it but I wanted to share an initial disappointment.

I have a reasonable selection of equipment and some of my items are there, however, the following are not in the database:

Stellacam III
GSO 42 mm 2" eyepiece
Stellarvue 70 MM ED telescope
Lumenera SkyNyx Planetary Camera series
Celestron 70 mm and other 50 mm binoculars
QSI guidescope

I could go on but as you can see that is quite a list of "misses".

I know how to source the dimensions of these items, particularly the imaging chips and pixel definitions, etc. but the point was that by spending money on a premium piece of software I should not have to.

I would like to suggest that you put some crowdsourcing techniques to work with your customers. Add a "submit to Bisque" button in the FOVI interface. Send the definitions up to your site. When you get three or more that are the same accept it as correct and then add it to the list. In a year or less you would have a truly comprehensive list that would be very impressive to people like me.

Please let me know if I can download CCDSoft that I've purchased a few years back as the installation was cleared with other programs due to hard disk problem. Being unable to put one's hand on the CDRom it is possible that the purchase was made in downloading from SB site. Thanks for any information about this purchase and how to procure again your program.

New MX arrived without any serial numbers for the software

I've just received my new MX, which is nice.

What is NOT nice is that the rather vital serial number(s) for the supplied software are NOT with the package. I've checked both outside and inside the box (two manuals, neither agree on where they sould be). No folder containing contents/packing data, which is where these numbers should be.

There is a serial number stuck to the outside of the box, which seems to be for the mount, but it doesnt work for SkyX.

This is really unsatisfactory for a mount that needs computer software to run...

And having these numbers in an envelope (which obvious can go missing rather easily!) rather than stuck on the CD case or stckered to the inside of the MX manual (the normal place to put these things) is just adding an unnecessary point of failure.

I would like the necessary numbers, please - I will provide the mount number and serial as proof if needed.

Got this software included with a Tasco Luminova telescope ( A very modest and novice style scope ) and was truely left wondering what the hell to do with this program ( Way over my head ! ) Why is this software included in a package that only a true novice would own ? Very disappointed and just UNINSTALLED SkyX First Light Edition !

I am strongly considering the purchase of a Paramount ME for my observatory. The SB web site clearly states what software ships with the ME but no where do I find what hardware the ME ships with. By accident I found that it does ship with 2 20# counter weights. What else does the price include? (and... why in the world don't you put that on your web site?)

Export Observing list

I am a hobbyist and use the Serious astronomer edition to set up observing sessions. I have a Celetron 8" with Starizona Hyperstar resulting in a 4.3 arcsecond per pixel resolution.

I maintain an Excel spread sheet to keep track of my sessions. It would be extremely helpful for me to export your observing list into Excel. Due to equipment limitations I always discard entries which will subtend less than say 10-20 pixels. Now I have to pore over the entries and compile my list by hand. It is also helpful to check whether I have previously viewed an entry.

Exporting you results to Excel or at least as comma separated values would allow me to sort on Messier, NGC, size, magnitude... Since you already use a spreadsheet format would you consider adding an export format which would accomplish that?

I bought it on April 2, 2012, Sale #9010.

Is there any way to get this number from you so I can use my software?

Hi, I recieved a a copy of CCDSoft and CCDOps with my purchase of a new SBIG camera about 3 years ago. I've never recieved a request for renewal of subscription before. I did register CCDSoft. What's going on? I did renew my subscription to The SkyX Pro. Did that trigger this other request?

The Sky Six control for iEQ45 mount

I have the iEQ45 mount from iOptron and would like to control it via The Sky program. In attempting to connect the mount is not listed and none of the others result in a connection. I use AstroArt 4.0 as my camera control and guiding and connect via Star2000 relay box in ST4 mode. Is there a driver/connection for the iEQ45 I can down load and install with The Sky 6 program. Please advise.:-)

Using TheSky6 with Meade LX200GPS

I am able to link TheSky6 with my LX200 after I allign the scope. However, everytime the Auotstar II system on teh scope is turned off I have to realign the scope before estanlishing a telescope link with the it to TheSky6 software. Is there a way to configure the software or my scope so that I don't have to go through the alignment process everytime I turn on the scope? Can TheSKy6 software simply relay its updated time, location, position data to the scope so that I skip the alignment process?

Hello Software Bisque Team,

I just bought The SkyX some weeks ago and I'm very happy with your cool program! It is a great tool that helps me handle my telescopes easily. I use The SkyX to work with my LX200GPS as well as with my Losmandy G11 Gemini II. Here is the point where I think The SkyX needs an enhancement. I cannot configure multiple mounts where I can easy switch over. I have to change my configuration to switch between my two mounts. There should be a kind of database for the mounts where I can keep all my parameters of each mount in, that will be very helpful! Maybe my request sounds also nice to you ;)

I cannot register T-Point and I thought it came with my purchase of the full Pro version. It does not take the same SN as SkyX does. Can anyone make a suggestion?

I recently bought a celestron firstscope and the theskyx first light edition is warped and can't be read by my cd drive and I was wondering if I can just download the program. I do not see any registration numbers on any of the sleeves or on the disc.

Any help would be appreciated. Matt

Hi,

I'm interested in educational pricing for TheSkyX Pro with several of the add-ons. I'm an astronomer at Wesleyan University. We would like to use TheSkyX Pro and associated software to control our 16" Meade LX200 GPS with attached SBIG STL-6303E CCD camera. We're interested in the multi-OS license as well as the TPoint add-on. Is there an educational institution equivalent of the Universal Subscription? We don't really need a multi-user site-license, as we're only going to be running the software on 1-2 computers and with one "user" (whoever is observing with the telescope at the time).
